Producing an interconnected sequence of indoor and outdoor community areas that are enveloped by character, Zaha Hadid Architects’ (ZHA) proposal for the 2nd Sejong Cultural Centre is outlined by the city’s record and its unwavering optimism for the long run.
Connecting Yeouido Park to the Han River, the 2nd Sejong Cultural Centre is embedded within just the purely natural landscapes of the park. Providing its community group with new community plazas, gardens, wildflower meadows and woodland glades, the park’s natural terraces and reflecting ponds echo the symbiotic partnership concerning individuals and nature encompassed in just standard Korean back garden style.
Carefully increasing to the horizon the place the roof backyard presents panoramic views throughout Seoul and its historic river, the all-natural environments of Yeouido Park envelop a sequence of interior spaces that movement by the centre to the banks of the Han River defining a lively new collecting position and cultural hub for the metropolis.
